Nuc Eng | Crit Eng | USQD | Work Planner

TCPS is currently looking for qualified applicants for:

TC-05-01 Nuclear Safety Engineers (Southeast and Northwest)

Provide industry expertise for the implementation and administration of nuclear safety basis documents in accordance with 10CFR830 Subpart B.  Staff serving as a Nuclear Safety Engineer may report to customer Project, Functional, or Facility Managers.  Examples of work to be performed by the Nuclear Safety Engineer are identified below. 

bulletDevelop, revise, or provide technical guidance for the development or revision to safety basis documents such as: Hazardous Assessment Documents (HADs), Safety Analysis Documents (SADs), Health and Safety Plans (HASPs), Preliminary Hazard Screening (PHSs), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Inactive Waste Site (IWS) documents, Unreviewed Safety Question Determinations (USQDs), Unreviewed Change Determination (UCD), and revision or amendments to these or other similar documents including all supporting analysis and calculations.
bulletPerform periodic reviews and updates of safety basis (SB) documents listed above.
bulletPerform facility and activity walk downs and review of work packages and other work authorizing documents for compliance to safety basis and other document requirements.
bulletProvide support to implement safety basis documents and support facility start up including support for Implementation Validation Reviews (IVRs), Readiness Assessments (RAs) and Operational Readiness Reviews (ORRs).

Experience Requirements

bulletat least ten years of nuclear experience (DOE preferred)
bulletat least three years of? experience in the development, maintenance, and use of (compliance with) DOE 10CFR830 safety basis documentation
bullettwo years experience performing facility walk down and / or operations support for the purpose of determine compliance with safety basis requirements or to implement safety basis requirements
bullettaken and passed (evidence required) the two or three day DOE USQD training (per 10 CFR 830 subpart B, section, 830.203, and DOE G 424.1-1),
