POSITION TITLE: OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY TRAINER
DUTIES: Provide training support for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) in support of Occupational Safety, Regulatory and General Training. Trainer will ensure the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training is implemented in accordance with Regulatory and SRS requirements. General responsibilities include but are not limited to the requirements of an Occupational Safety Trainer in addition to the responsibility of training and instructor oversight to include: management of training personnel requirements, management of training schedules, interfacing with site training and customers to ensure commitments are being met.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety or a related field or 10 years equivalent experience. Professional certification preferred, e.g. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health & Safety Technologist (OHST), or Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST).
Experience/Skills:
1. Ten years experience in Occupational Safety and Regulations of which two years should be in General Training.
2. Experience in the design, development, and implementation of technical training
programs.
3. Professional and interpersonal skills so as to establish and cultivate positive
working relationships and interfaces with both internal and external customers
4. Demonstrated knowledge of DOE 5480.20, and SRS operating policies, rules, and
regulations is preferable.
5. Knowledge of 29CFR Part 1910 and 1926 and 10CFR 851, operations and training regulations and requirements, and industrial codes and standards.
6. OSHA Authorized Trainer for both General Industry and Construction 10 Hour and 30 Hour courses preferred. Must be authorized in at least one category.
Work Hours:
A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Shift Rotational work hours (12 hr shifts) may be required. Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.
Area Security Access:
A security clearance is not initially required; however, candidate must be capable of obtaining an L or Q clearance if required to perform assigned duties.
