POSITION TITLE: .NET Web Developer using Visual Basic .NET and ASP .NET

 

SUMMARY:

Establish cost-effective web based solutions that meet the customer’s business and technical needs as defined in the Deliverables section using Visual Basic .NET and ASP .NET. The developer must define the scope and requirements to include scheduling, estimating, and quality control. Once the customer has approved these, the developer will plan, coordinate and direct analysis, design, development of the information management solutions. The developer must also identify, analyze, troubleshoot and resolve problems with the aim of eliminating recurrences problems. If necessary, they need to coordinate with other Information Techology areas to implement the solution or resolve problems. Additionally, the developer is responsible for compliance with departmental policies and processes and for performing all duties and activities in a safe and ethical manner. Requires 2 years relevant information systems developement experience.

To be qualified for these positions a candidate must have

·         · ASP .Net development experience (VS2005 & VS2008)

·         · VB .NET development experience (VS2005 & VS2008)

·         · .NET framework experience (.NET 2.0 & 3.5 framework)

·         · Relational database experience (SQL Server preferred plus Oracle, Access, or/and ODBC)

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

3. Problem analysis and resolution

a. Fixes causes, not just solutions. Works to eliminate recurring problems and supportability.

b. Watches for trends that indicate potential problems and then eliminates the problems before they happen.

4. Communication

a. Keep peers and STR informed of trends, significant problems, unexpected delays and anything new in the environment.

b. Keep customers informed of global problems, scheduled downtime or anything that affects the computing environment.

c. Keep customers informed of progress on problems that cannot be resolved on first call.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:

 

Bachelor Science degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Experience/Skills:

 

Candidate must demonstrate knowledge and abilities in the following:

Work environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have a space exposed to normal noise level in the work environment.

Work Hours:

A 40 hour work week excluding SRNS holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch. Area Security Access: A security clearance is not required.
