Mentor – Conduct of Operations / Readiness

 

Provide Mentor staff augmentation support to SRNS.  Primary duties include the following:

·         Will be required to develop a strategy for ensuring facility personnel are thoroughly trained to understand the Savannah River Site Conduct of Operations Program and are prepared to successfully pass a Contractor-led Readiness Assessment, at a minimum.

·         Provide continuous monitoring of personnel performing operations activities to ensure Conduct of Operations is maintained at a high level and report issues to the appropriate Line Manager.

·         Interface with personnel performing training and developing procedures to ensure Conduct of Operations standards are appropriately integrated into training and procedures.

·         Will participate in event investigations, be aware of changes in facility conditions (radiological, environmental, or potentially hazardous) and make appropriate notifications.

 

Services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures.  Work is performed from approved standard or special procedures, manuals, training, verbal turnover, and management direction.  Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

 

Education:

College degree plus 5 years or high school 10-15 years experience in the nuclear field with similar responsibilities.

 

Experience / Skills:

Position requires extensive experience in the DOE Complex related to Conduct of Operations, Readiness Assessments, and Facility Safety Basis Documentation.

 

Work Hours:

A 40 hour work week is scheduled.  All positions are subject to working night and/or weekend shift schedules.  SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week b).  Work week excludes SRNS holidays.  Each work day has a 30 minute lunch.

 

Area Security Access:

A security clearance in not initially required; however, candidate must be capable of obtaining an L or Q clearance if required to perform assigned duties.
