Materials Management Specialist (24 Hour Shift Position)

 

Manage the material logistics function to ensure proper storage of materials until required for use and prompt delivery to the site location as appropriate.  Manage the computerized inventory control system to ensure site wide accountability for stored materials.  Ensure materials and equipment are accepted in accordance with the requirements of the purchase order, and placed into proper storage areas.  Additional responsibilities include:

 

·         Coordinate material support and provide procurement actions for emergent project, maintenance, or operational activities.

·         Interface with site/area organizations and suppliers to ensure materials are acquired as needed.

·         Interface with internal and external auditors to resolve material control concerns.

·         Implement overall program to control the inventory and issuance Government assets.

·         Active participant in the site safety program.

 

This position is a rotating shift to provide twenty-four hour coverage of storage facilities.  Material Management services will be provided using SRNS processes and procedures.  Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree, technical or business related or equivalent work experience (minimum 6 years) with at least 3 years experience in material logistics.

 

Experience/Skills:

Candidate must have strong problem solving, analysis and interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills.  Candidate must have the ability to walkdown and interface with personnel and systems in the field.  Candidate must demonstrate computer skills, specifically inventory and logistics software.

 

Work Hours:

This position is a rotating shift position to provide 24 hour coverage to storage facilities.  Each work day is a twelve and one quarter (12.25) hours with a 30 minute meal break.  The site shift designation is “M” (i.e. M1, M2, M3, M4).

 

Area Security Access:

A security clearance is not initially required; however, candidate must be capable of obtaining and L or Q clearance if required to perform assigned duties.
