POSITION TITLE:  Generator Certification Official                                                                    

 

DUTIES:

Generator Certification Official supports the Waste Program by assisting with various waste management functions as directed by the Waste Program Manager.

                       

§  Characterize waste generated during Laboratory Analytical activities involving D&D samples

§  Understand RCRA and TSCA Regulations and Laws

§  Direct waste packaging activities

§  Perform mathematical calculations

§  Provide info to scheduler for waste shipments

§  Schedule trucking and equipment support

§  Update Waste Container Tracking Databases

§  Develop & maintain regulatory files and documents

§  Provide input to the Quarterly Hazardous Waste Report

§  Provide input to the Waste forecast each year for SW budget requests

§  Monthly and Weekly Container Staging Inspections

§  Provide input to the Monthly waste statistics and reporting

§  PPAFs

§  Issue Container requests

§  Issue waste container ID numbers and waste stream identification

 

Services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Work is performed from approved standards or special procedures, manuals training, verbal turnover, and management directions. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required

 

Experience/Skills:

Candidate must demonstrate use of computers, and have industrial work experience.

Candidate must have 2 years of work experience in the area of Environmental Protection or Nuclear Operations.  However, a candidate with a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or hard science requires only 6 months of experience rather than 2 years.

 

Work Hours:

            A 40 hour work week is scheduled.  All positions are subject to working night and/or weekend shift schedules.  SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B).  Work week excludes SRNS holidays.  Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.

 

 

 

Area Security Access:

A security clearance is not initially required; candidate must be capable of obtaining an L or Q clearance, if required to perform assigned duties.
