POSITION TITLE: GIS Analyst
DUTIES:
Provide Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analyst services for the Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) Process and Geospatial Software Engineering group. Develop and maintain GIS technical projects as assigned. Perform data entry and maintenance, geospatial analysis, map creation, documentation and customer interaction. Depending upon candidate experience and customer needs, data interpretation duties may also be assigned.
Candidate must be able to work in a team environment. Some field work may also be required.
Services will be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Planning, Computer Engineering or Science, Engineering, or related field or an Associate Degree in Engineering or Science discipline with equivalent experiences.
Experience /Skills:
Experience with ESRI software ArcGIS Desktop and associated extensions is required. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of one (1) year experience in performing work with ESRI software. Additional experience with ArcGIS Server products including SDE and versioned editing workflow is beneficial. Knowledge of relational database management with experience in Structure Query Language (SQL) is also desired. Cartography skills and experience is also beneficial.
Work Hours:
A 40 hour work week is scheduled utilizing a 4/10s (4 days at 10 hours per day) or 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B) work schedule. Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute unpaid lunch. A variable work schedule including extended hours may be required to meet business needs.
Area Security Access:
A security clearance is not required to perform these duties. Must be a U.S. citizen.
