DUTIES:
Perform complex diagnoses, maintenance and overhauls on equipment and systems powered by internal combustion engines; additional mechanical on buildings and process systems, Primary duties include the following:
· Work from approved standard and special procedures
· Remove overhaul/repair and install complicated components of portable equipment
· Work with minimal supervision
· Perform incidental rigging activities
· Perform initial investigations of abnormal events on portable equipment and systems as necessary
· Follow all safety rules and Rad Con policies and procedures
· Maintain all required qualification needed to perform work within the facility
Services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Work is performed from approved standard or special procedures, manuals, training, verbal turnover, and management direction. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Degree
Experience /Skills:
Minimum five years experience as an equipment repair mechanic or supervisor skills of the equipment repair craft
Candidate will be required to enter data into a computerized maintenance management system. Required to read and understand electrical and mechanical blue prints and sketches. Read and understand vendor’s repair manuals and technical maintenance instructions.
Work Hours:
A 40 hour or 48 hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), 4/12s (12 hours/day; four days per week) and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.
Area Security Access:
A security clearance is not initially required; however, candidate must be capable of obtaining an L or Q clearance if required to perform assigned duties.
