Electrical Engineer (Design)

 

Duties:

Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS.  Primarily responsibilities include: engineering analysis, walkdowns, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: Single Line Drawings; Electrical Equipment Lists; Control Systems Design; Control Schematics and Connection Diagrams; Electrical Equipment Specifications; Bulk Material Specifications; Circuit/Raceway/Wiring/Connection Design; Grounding; Heat Tracing; Fire Detection; Short Circuit Calculations, Load Flow Analysis; and Electrical System Sizing Calculations.

 

Required Qualifications

 

Education / Certifications – BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering.

 

Experience / Skills – Candidates must demonstrate five (5) years design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.  Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of NEC, IES, NFPA, IEEE and OSHA code requirements.  Experience with 2D Microstation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is required.  Candidate must have the ability to walkdown systems in the field.  Experience with equipment systems in nuclear or hazardous environment s is preferred.

 

Work Hours - A 40 - 48 hour work week is scheduled.  SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; 5 days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), 4/12s (12 hours/day; four days per week) and 9/80s (9 hours /day; five days on week A and 4 days on week B).  Work week normally excludes SRNS holidays.  Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.

 

Security Requirements – A security clearance is not initially required; however, candidate must be capable of obtaining and L or Q clearance if required to perform duties.
