POSITION TITLE: Deactivation/Decommissioning (D&D) Project Engineer
 

DUTIES:

Function as a Project Engineer assigned to SRNS D&D Projects. Deactivation Engineering assignments include: development of scoping and reporting documents such as deactivation project plans, facility isolation plans and reports, and development of general work scoping documents and field support to D&D Field Operations. Decommissioning Engineering assignments include: development of engineering surveys, decommissioning project plans, facility decommissioning evaluations, facility endpoint documents, development of final project reports, facility endpoint closure verification and reports, and development of general work scoping documents and field support to D&D Field Operations.

Engineering support and review services will be provided using SRNS processes

and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

·           BA or BS Degree/global equivalent university degree in a Technical Field with three (3) years project engineering experience.

·           Associate Degree/global equivalent secondary school diploma with five (5) years technical discipline experience, as a person in responsible charge, in industrial operations, facility construction, rehabilitation and/or demolition projects.

·           High school diploma with seven (7) years technical discipline experience, as a person in responsible charge, in industrial operations, facility construction, rehabilitation and/or demolition projects.

Experience/Skills:

In addition to education, the following are required skills, knowledge and/or qualifications:

·         Knowledge of Construction Codes and Standards.

·           Produce written documents with clearly organized structure and grammar. Ability to operate Windows Microsoft Office applications.

·           Communicate orally with management, project team members and DOE Customers regarding D&D project scope.

·           Must be able to pass SRS Radiological Worker Training, if required.

·           Must be able to walk down facilities and systems in non climate controlled environments.

·      Previous SRS Experience

Preferred Skills:

·      Familiarity with DOE Orders/Guides, EPA and SCDHEC Regulations with regards to Facility Disposition.

·      Radiological and/or nuclear facilities experience

·      Mechanical, Civil, Chemical Disciplines

Work Hours:

A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Scheduled overtime, backshift and weekend work is to be expected. Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.

Area Security Access:

A security clearance is not initially required; however, candidate must be capable of obtaining an L or Q clearance if required to perform assigned duties.
