POSITION TITLE:  CYBER SECURITY ENGINEER – PROJECT SUPPORT

 

DUTIES:

Provide technical analysis for secure system and architecture development for complex computer and network projects. Document analysis results and report findings to technical peers and various levels of management. Perform formal and informal risk evaluations and develop documentation for proposed IT projects.  Assist in security plan development; perform controls testing per DOE requirements, assist system owners in implementation of security controls.

 

Services will be provided using SRNS processes and procedures.  Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:

BS Degree in Computer Science or an Engineering discipline preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

 

Experience/Skills :

Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years experience in computer security technologies, including an understanding of networking and telecommunications concepts and hardware and software technologies. Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting cyber security requirements.  Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex problems and work with internal and external customers and support groups.  Possesses good analytical, verbal and technical writing skills. In depth  experience with one or more of the following technologies is preferred: remote access (e.g. Citrix), wireless networking, VOIP.

 

Work Hours:

A 40 hour work week is scheduled utilizing a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B) work schedule.  Work week excludes SRNS holidays.  Each work day has a 30-minute unpaid lunch.  A variable work schedule may be required to meet business needs.

 

Area Security Access:

A DOE L level security clearance is required.
