POSITION TITLE: CIVIL STRUCTURAL ENGINEER (DESIGN)

DUTIES:

Provide design and construction oversight of structural engineering tasks to SRNS. Structural engineering tasks include: analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs; design of concrete structures; design of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, timber and composite structures; foundation and anchorage design; structural analysis for impact, overpressure, and other accident conditions; preparation of CSI specifications; and review of vendor documents.

Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

BS Degree in Civil Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.

Experience /Skills:

Candidate must demonstrate five (5) years experience in design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities. Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of GTSTRUDL (STAAD experience is acceptable with willingness to learn GTSTRUDL). Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD and LRFD), ACI, AWS, NFPA, and OSHA. Candidate demonstrating experience in 2D Microstation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is preferred. Candidate must have the ability to walk down systems in the field.

Work Hours:

A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, fives days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.

Area Security Access:

A security clearance is not initially required; however, candidate must be capable of obtaining an L or Q clearance if required to perform assigned duties.
