Position Title:  Buyer

JOB DUTIES:

Assignment: Journeyman level position with limited supervision; typical assignments include, but are not limited to, executing procurements for staff augmentation positions, subcontracts to provide specifically defined services, orders for construction equipment, and may include procurement of more complex engineered equipment and fabricated goods.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Engineering preferred, or equivalent work experience; CPM certificate a plus.

Experience: 5+ years experience in procurement with or 13 years experience if no degree; at least 2 years of Federal government-related procurement experience; skilled in computer usage and procurement systems; knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and Department of Energy Acquisition Regulations; familiarity with best value purchasing and Federal Travel Regulations; experience with Federal government socioeconomic programs (i.e. 8A, Hubzone); prior procurement experience with a DOE M&O Contractor preferred.

Work Hours:

A 40 hour work week is scheduled.  WSRC utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s.  Work week normally excludes WSRC holidays.  Each work day has a 30-minute non-paid lunch.
