TITLE:      Administrative Assistant     

 

DUTIES:     Provides a variety of administrative and staff support services to an organizational unit. Assists in the planning, preparation, control, and implementation of organizational objectives. Assist with the development and implementation of projects, programs, and/or processes specific to the operating unit served. May serve as liaison with others within and outside the organization regarding activities related to mission, objectives, planning, and analysis.  Follow office, safety and security procedures.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs, as a generalist, a variety of administrative functions in a SRNS organizational unit by supporting/assisting administrative, technical, and/or management personnel as follows:

Gathers information, prepares special reports and presentations, maintains records, and projects future trends.

bullet

Provides guidance and developmental assistance on organizational and company policies and administrative procedures.

bullet

Coordinates activities in support of safety, health, financial, and overall operations of the Site.

bullet

Reviews and answers correspondence. May compile, store, and retrieve management data, using computer.

 

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:     High school diploma, U.S. citizen  

 

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

Fifteen years practical experience in a business or administrative area

bullet

Typing skills – 45 words per minute

bullet

Computer skills to include Excel, Microsoft Word

bullet

Oral and written communication skills 

  

WORK HOURS: A 40-hour work week is scheduled.  SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on Week B), or shift schedules.  Work week excludes SRNS holidays.  Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.  Normal work location for this position will be an office building, but may be assigned to work in a process facility and could be assigned to a shift schedule   

 

AREA SECURITY ACCESS:           Must be capable of obtaining an “L” or “Q” clearance, if requested.
